Frank Strausser’s sexy comedy Psycho Therapy returns to off-Broadway’s Cherry Lane Theatre beginning April 8. Back by popular demand, the show will enjoy an encore engagement through May 26.
Jan Leslie Harding and Laurece Lau will reprise their roles as Nancy Winston and Phillip, respectively. Joining the cast are Alexander Cendese (A View from the Bridge) and Gabrielle Miller (Corner Gas) as Dorian and Lily. The production’s original stars Jeffrey Carlson and Angelica Page were unable to return due to scheduling conflicts.
Directed by Michael Bush, Psycho Therapy follows the strange relationship between Lily (Miller), her fiancée Phillip (Lau), and her ex Dorian (Cendese). When Phillip blows off couples therapy, Lily’s hot, young ex-boyfriend, Dorian, jumps in to fill the void. When the trio ends up on the couch together, only therapist Nancy Winston (Harding) can untangle the kinks.
Psycho Therapy will feature set design by Michael V. Moore, costume design by Amanda Bujak, sound design by Amy Altadonna, lighting design by Jeff Croiter and composition by Allison Leyton-Brown. The production originally opened at the Cherry Lane Theatre on February 7 and ran through February 25.
